The Sable Horta mosaic , a marble inlay by The Artistic Tile Company, uses the botanical forms of Art Nouveau as inspiration and contrasts polished Crema Marfil limestone background and dots in various tones of warm beige accented by grey and gold pencil veins with blush undertones; polished Thassos snow white marble lines and dots; polished Bianco Antico marble dots in parchment tones accented with green veining.

Sable Horta Mosaic in Warm Neutral Stone

Sable relies on closely related cream, parchment and white tones, allowing the scrolling line to carry the decoration. The contrast between Crema Marfil, Thassos and Bianco Antico is quieter than in Bijou or Bleu, but natural veining and polished surfaces give the field depth. Its curving botanical language remains closely connected to Art Nouveau .

Working with a Tonal Waterjet Pattern

For the Sable Horta mosaic , test grout against the actual stones and dry lay several modules before fixing. This helps distribute natural variation, confirm the repeat and assess how the warm neutral palette sits beside larger-format limestone , marble , timber or metal finishes. Where the mosaic forms an inset, establish the perimeter before ordering so the scrolling repeat finishes deliberately against the surrounding material and adjoining stone.
