This grey marble inlay combines Dove Burl Grey Marble with narrow black micro mosaic lines, turning pale stone into an animated field of waves, scrolls and tight curling volutes. The black tesserae trace every curve, giving the softer grey marble a strong graphic edge while retaining the natural movement and tonal variation of the stone.

The pattern works at two scales. From across a room, the broad pale ribbons read as a continuous flowing composition. At closer range, the small dark tesserae become visible as individual units and reveal how the outlines negotiate each curl and junction.
