Molly Leather Collection by Neisha Crosland

Molly leather tiles form part of a Leather Collection inspired by ancient terracotta floors. English saddlery leather is cut to shape and then painstakingly hand dyed and hand finished to create a subtly antiqued patina.

Applied to a stable marine ply base, the leather tiles come in a range of natural colours; natural, tan and chocolate as well as vivid contemporary colours such as saffron and mustard. Custom colours can be produced to order. This is a highly sensual collection; the feel and aroma of natural leather are visually enhanced by decorative techniques including embossing, hammering and stamping.

Designed for use on interior walls and floors, leather can be laid in a variety of patterns including herringbone and Parquet de Versailles. It is also designed to work in combination with other De Ferranti collections, from metal to stone.

A collaboration with textile designer Neisha Crosland has resulted in a contemporary collection of leather tiles etched with her popular Molly pattern.

Molly Leather Tiles by Neisha Crosland

The Molly motif was inspired by a Havana floor and the rhythms of Cuban music, translating a lively looping repeat into a tactile leather surface. Across the seven current colourways, Antique Tan, Camel, Grey, Midnight Blue, Mustard, Royal Blue and Saffron, Molly leather tiles shift in character according to the ground colour and depth of the etched line.

Pattern, Colour and Project Use

Review samples for tone, patina and pattern contrast before specification. Consider the repeat at room scale, particularly on larger floors or feature walls, and coordinate adjoining materials so that the leather remains visually clear without competing with neighbouring patterns.
