Neisha Crosland
Molly in Camel

These Camel Molly leather tiles are handcrafted leather surfaces by Neisha Crosland, etched with her playful Molly design, which was inspired by a Havana floor and the rhythms of Cuban music. On the warm camel ground, the looping pattern has the club-like character noted in De Ferranti’s original description, while the antiqued finish gives the leather depth rather than a flat, printed appearance. The Molly motif is also available in other materials, including cement and stencilled stone.

Camel Molly Leather Tiles and Warm Saddle Colour

Camel Molly leather tiles balance a strong graphic repeat with a restrained tobacco-brown palette. The dark etched line forms linked rounded shapes across the square module, so the pattern becomes more continuous as several tiles are laid together. The ground retains subtle tonal movement, allowing the natural surface to remain visible beneath the design. For a warmer, more patinated comparison, see Molly in Antique Tan. Molly in Grey provides a cooler interpretation of the same repeat.

Planning Pattern, Samples and Transitions

Because the Molly design depends on continuity between adjacent tiles, establish the repeat and principal sightlines before installation. Samples should be reviewed under project lighting to judge the camel colour, antiqued finish and contrast of the dark etched motif. On larger floors, the pattern reads as a broad linked lattice, while on smaller areas individual loops and junctions become more prominent.

For wider context, De Ferranti’s Neisha Crosland collaboration shows how her pattern language has developed across several surface collections, while Ceramics by Neisha Crosland provides related work in clay and glaze. Coordinate adjoining timber, stone or metal carefully so the warm leather remains distinct and the junctions are resolved cleanly.
