This jaguar stone tile combines sandstone and black marble in a boldly coloured animal pattern from The Serengeti Collection. The collection comprises four designs, each translating an animal-skin marking into stone. This version is shown in opus sectile and has a polished finish. The design may also be interpreted through inlay or mosaic techniques, creating different surface and textural effects.

Opus sectile is an ancient Roman technique in which shaped pieces of stone are assembled to form an image or pattern, generally using elements larger and more individually shaped than mosaic tesserae .

Large black rings and rosette -like markings spread across the warm ochre field, giving Jaguar the broadest and most circular pattern of the four Big Cat designs. The irregular spacing prevents the surface from becoming a mechanical polka dot, while the strong colour contrast allows the motif to remain legible across a room.
