Looking like part of an ancient temple, these brass briquette floor tiles are from De Ferranti’s ‘Alchemy’ Collection. The briquettes have a surface of hand-patinated Brass and are bonded to a marine ply base. They can be used on walls or floors. Also available in Bronze, German Silver and Copper, tiles in different metals can be used together to create patterns. Bespoke sizes and finishes are available to order.

Brass Briquette Floor Tiles and Broken Reflection

Texture II uses a pronounced linear hand-worked finish that gives the brass a directional character. In close view, the marks interrupt the reflected light and reveal warmer gold and brown tones within the patina. Installed across a larger area, the repeated briquettes form a rich but ordered metallic field, particularly effective where furniture, joinery or other materials provide a contrasting surface.

De Ferranti has used hammered brass briquettes in the Gilt Champagne Bar at Jumeirah Carlton Tower, providing a useful project reference for this material language. The ESPA Istanbul project also demonstrates how bespoke brass surfaces can sit alongside other specialist materials.

Specifying Texture II Brass

For brass briquette floor tiles, layout direction should be agreed before installation because the linear texture and rectangular format establish a visible rhythm. Samples help assess patina, joint appearance and reflection under the intended lighting, as well as the relationship between individual briquettes across a larger field. Hammered Brass Briquettes – Texture I allows direct comparison with the collection’s alternative brass texture, while Hammered Paktong Briquettes offers a cooler metallic counterpart for mixed-material schemes.
