English Brogue Herringbone Leather

This brogue herringbone leather is a richly textured surface crafted from English saddlery leather, hand dyed and finished to create a warm, subtly antiqued patina. Inspired by traditional terracotta floors, it is tactile and contemporary in character.

English Brogue Herringbone Leather is formed from precision-cut leather briquettes laid in a classic herringbone pattern, bringing rhythm and structure to the surface. Each piece is painstakingly hand dyed and hand finished, allowing tonal variation and natural markings to emerge. Decorative brogue-style edging references traditional English leatherwork and saddlery, while the embossing and finishing processes add visual depth.

Mounted on a stable marine ply base, the leather tiles are suitable for interior floors and walls. The collection can be specified in natural, tan, chocolate or stronger contemporary colourways such as saffron and mustard, with custom colours also available to order.

Brogue Herringbone Leather and English Leatherwork

The repeated perforated edge turns each briquette into a clearly articulated unit, making the herringbone geometry more legible than a plain leather strip. Compare the lighter Natural Brogue Leather Briquettes or the warmer Tan Brogue Border Briquettes when selecting the degree of colour and patination.

Layout and Material Pairing

Herringbone direction should be established before installation, particularly at thresholds and principal sightlines. Samples help assess grain, sheen and variation between individual pieces. The Hide Collection can be coordinated with De Ferranti’s metal floor and wall tiles where contrasting modular materials are required.

In furnished interiors, the herringbone works particularly well where the floor can be read from several angles, because the directional repeat changes subtly with viewpoint and reflected light across the leather.
