These heliotrope glass tiles are made from handblown bubble glass. For those wanting statement decorative materials, these handblown glass tiles, reminiscent of the bubbles in the best vintage Champagne, couldn’t be more opulent. The Effervescence range, from De Ferranti’s Bohemian artisans, is available in a wide range of colourways from Krystal to Champagne pink and more honey and bronze tones to blues and purples.
Effervescence in Heliotrope is among the deeper colourways in the collection. The photographed square combines dark violet-blue glass with a dense scatter of lighter blue, lavender and silvery bubbles. Its colour remains complex at close range because the rounded forms catch different highlights, while from farther away they merge into a richly mottled field. The overall effect remains dramatic while materially legible at close range.
Effervescence in Blue provides a related blue emphasis, while Effervescence in Clear & Purple offers a much lighter treatment of violet. Rock Crystal can introduce a naturally transparent mineral alongside the glass, and Mirrors, Bevelled, Painted and Verre Églomisé offers another reflective material family for layered interiors.
Heliotrope glass tiles can become markedly brighter where individual bubbles catch direct light, so the intended lighting scheme should be considered during sample review. Darker adjoining surfaces can reinforce the nocturnal violet character, while pale stone or plaster increases contrast around each reflective point. Grout tone and edge conditions should be resolved at the same stage, particularly for feature walls or detailed areas where cuts and junctions will remain visually prominent.
