Diamanti™ – Crystal Small uses small crystal wall tiles to create a finely scaled field of clear, minute-cut glass crystals with a bright, light-responsive finish. Inspired by vintage Cartier, the wider Diamanti range also includes rock crystal, boudoir pink, ruby red, gold and rainbow multi-colour treatments, giving the collection a distinctly jewellery-led vocabulary.
The reduced crystal scale gives this version a particularly close-grained appearance. Rather than reading as a single reflective sheet, the surface is built from numerous faceted points that catch light independently, creating subtle movement as the viewpoint changes. The crystals are carried on an adhesive backing, and the flexible construction allows the material to follow columns and concave or convex forms.
It can also be used on walls, cupboard interiors, doors, partitions, screens, ceilings and mirror frames. Diamanti™ – Crystal offers a clear companion at a different scale, while Diamanti™ – Crystal Gold Small introduces a warmer gold-toned treatment. De Ferranti’s Glass Crystal Tile & Lighting Collection provides further references for reflective glass surfaces, and the Fitzrovia bathroom project shows how Diamanti can be used as a focused interior feature.
Because small crystal wall tiles contain so many individual reflective points, lighting has a strong influence on the finished effect. Samples should be viewed under the actual or proposed project lighting and beside neighbouring materials before specification. The fine repeat can be especially effective on detailed joinery, bar fronts, columns and other areas where a smaller visual scale is appropriate.
Where the material wraps a curve or meets another finish, edge treatment and sheet positioning should be planned in advance. The aim is to preserve a continuous crystal field while allowing the surrounding stone, metal, mirror or cabinetry to frame rather than compete with the surface.
