This paprika terracotta tile is hand-painted with charcoal on an off-white ground, drawing on the pageantry of Italy’s medieval Palio tradition to create bold interlocking geometry with a celebratory, graphic rhythm.

The design is built from curved segments and crisp diagonal lines that lock together in repeat, forming a structured surface with a strong graphic backbone. Paprika brings warmth and energy, while the off-white ground keeps the pattern light and balanced, allowing the geometry to read clearly across larger installations.

Hand painting gives every tile subtle variation in brush direction and tonal depth. This softens the repeat and prevents the field from feeling mechanically printed, particularly where several modules meet around the central red diamonds.

Dry-lay several tiles to establish the full repeat before deciding the centre line. Preserve complete curved forms at the principal viewpoint and use a pale grout where continuity is preferred. Confirm substrate, joint width, slip performance and warm-climate exterior suitability, and approve the paprika tone from multiple samples.
