The Grazia red terracotta tile is hand-painted in a Southern Italian artisan studio with ornate off-white floral and geometric decoration over a red ground. De Ferranti records the pattern as Sicilian in origin and 18th century in character. Its reversed colour balance, pale ornament against a warm field, gives the design a strong presence while retaining the irregularity of artisan brushwork.

The red background reads as both colour and material, sitting close to the natural warmth of the terracotta body beneath. Off-white foliate forms, curved bands and geometric accents organise the surface without removing its handmade character. Small shifts in tone, line and glaze density are expected and should be distributed naturally throughout the installation.

For a related red-ground composition, Leonarda Red and White forms an aged four-tile repeat, while Rosellina Red offers a different Sicilian floral language. Beyond the collection, Neisha Crosland's Pollen in Orange and Red connects through warm colour and handmade terracotta, while Stella di Thera Rosa provides a softer matt ceramic surface for complementary areas.

Using a Warm Sicilian Pattern

Grazia can be considered for residential floors, kitchen and bathroom surfaces, feature walls, restaurants and selected warm-climate exterior settings, subject to specification. The red field is particularly effective beside pale stone, lime plaster, dark timber or aged metal. Samples should be viewed in the project's actual light because red glaze can appear different under warm and cool illumination. Confirm the intended application, tile thickness, grout colour and setting-out method before installation, especially where the ornament must align around corners, openings or cabinetry.
