The Midnight Delft handmade ceramic tile has a deep inky-blue glaze inspired by historic Delft ceramics, night skies and enduring European tile traditions. Created in collaboration between De Ferranti and AAA – Alvaro Afonso Atelier, Midnight Delft MC27 is one of the strongest and most classic blues in the collection.

Its depth gives it a formal, old-world character, while the handmade surface keeps it alive with subtle glaze movement, edge variation and kiln-fired irregularity. The colour reads as a dark Delft blue, with enough variation to avoid flatness and enough intensity to create drama.

It is particularly effective for Bathrooms, Kitchens, Pool rooms, Bars, Fireplaces, Stair risers, Garden rooms and Feature walls. Specified on its own, Midnight Delft MC27 creates a confident, enveloping surface.

The Midnight Delft handmade ceramic tile should be assessed through physical samples in the lighting and material context of the proposed room. The colour can carry a traditional scheme, but its simple field format also gives it clarity in contemporary interiors. Small differences in glaze depth, surface movement and edge profile belong to the handmade character and should be distributed deliberately across the finished area.

Additional tones within the Blues family include Azure Tide, Imperial Navy, Mistwashed Sky and Skywash Blue.

Project Planning and Technical Confirmation

For larger schemes, review a representative batch mock-up and agree the grout joint from the actual dimensional variation of the supplied tiles rather than from a rectified-tile convention. Where the tile is proposed for showers, pool rooms or other wet settings, the substrate, waterproofing, adhesive and grout system must be specified as a complete assembly. Floor, exterior and submerged applications require written project-specific confirmation.
