The brass sunflower border was created from sandcast brass, then expertly inlaid into beige sandstone with black micro pebble mosaic sunflower seeds. Each brass segment has been sand cast individually. Not one piece is the same.

These cast brass segments are assembled together before they are set into a depression created in the beige sandstone, before the centres are painstakingly filled with micro pebbles as mosaic. This modern take on the inlay technique is rather fun. The natural tarnishing of the brass will create a beautiful patina over time.
