Connemara marble border, the Emerald Isle Border 1 is inspired by the rich green of Ireland and Celtic symbols, creating a decorative stone frame with colour, heritage and quiet movement.

This unique border is fashioned from carefully selected tones of Connemara Marble and precious accent teardrops over a cement base, ensuring that the border is stable, sound and easier to install. Totally hand-cut and hand assembled, it is a truly handmade product. No border is exactly the same, as the artist’s hand is vital in creating natural nuance within each interlocking piece.

Connemara Marble is a serpentine-rich rock, valued as a decorative facing stone. With its varied greens and wild natural patterning, it reflects the landscape and mineral character of the Emerald Isle. Thicknesses can be 1 cm or 2 cm, or made to order, as can the border widths and material combinations. All De Ferranti borders are fully customisable. The current finish is antiqued.

The design is restrained, linear and rhythmic. Small teardrop forms punctuate a pale central band, while darker outer edges give the border structure and definition. The green stone variation brings depth without heaviness, making the piece useful where a project needs a decorative accent that remains calm and mineral-led.

Emerald Isle Border 1 can be considered for floor framing, walling, fireplace surrounds, kitchen and bathroom detailing, residential interiors, restaurants and leisure settings, subject to specification. Where suitable, it may also be considered for external use in warm climates.
