Made from shagreen (stingray) or specified as a high-quality faux alternative, this finish is defined by its tightly packed, pearled texture - tactile, uniform, and unmistakably luxurious. The black colourway amplifies the sculptural quality of the grain, so the surface feels architectural and crisp rather than flat.
From a distance it reads as a clean, dark plane. Up close, the bead pattern comes alive, catching light across thousands of raised points and creating a subtle shimmer that moves as you do. The result is bold but not flashy, ideal for joinery and furniture where detail and touch matter.
Supplied as skins or pre-assembled panels on a stable substrate, with layout options available on request.
Recommended Uses
Wall panels and feature cladding, cabinet doors, drawer fronts, bar fronts, headboards, furniture accents, decorative inlays, and in select constructions and protective finishes, low-traffic internal flooring.
Shagreen use was pioneered by Jean-Michel Frank for interiors, architectural finishes and furniture.
