A classical field pattern of balance and repetition.
Executed in hand-split of Turkish Black and Italian white , the flowing linear forms contrast beautifully against the warm tonal variation of the stone field. Subtle shifts in colour and texture give depth to what appears, at first glance, to be a perfectly ordered geometry.
Each tessera is cut and placed by hand, set in traditional lime mortar using the same methods employed in Roman villas and public buildings. The result is not merely a visual recreation, but a faithful continuation of ancient craftsmanship.
Such field patterns were used to unify expansive floors, creating harmony through repetition while allowing central panels or borders to take prominence.
Measured. Balanced. Enduring.
