At Ewhurst Park, Basingstoke, UK, De Ferranti supplied a layered hard-surface scheme designed by Seldom Scene Interiors (Boston, USA), with Symm Construction as the builder. Alongside our Hammered German Silver (Paktong) briquettes, we also supplied Chocolate Onyx bricks for the shower walls and shower tray, creating a rich contrast of metal lustre and deep stone translucency.

The bathroom combines two distinctive De Ferranti materials to achieve a balanced, luxury finish. Hammered German Silver briquettes deliver a refined metallic surface with a softly broken reflection, ideal for high-impact interiors where durability and a controlled sheen are required. The briquette format introduces a disciplined rhythm and an architectural grid that reads tailored and contemporary.

nTo complement the metalwork, De Ferranti supplied Chocolate Onyx brick tiles to both the shower walls and the shower tray, bringing a darker, more atmospheric material into the wet zone. The onyx offers natural depth and tonal variation, with a rich cocoa-brown character that feels warm and indulgent against the cooler silver tones. Used in brick format, it keeps the stone feeling modern and precise, while still showcasing the inherent movement of onyx.

nAs with the wider project, the majority of hard surfaces were fabricated, supplied and installed by De Ferranti’s own trades, ensuring clean setting-out, accurate junctions and consistent detailing across both the German Silver and onyx elements.
