Tilapia Scale Tile is a tilapia scale tile composed from overlapping pieces of fish skin, creating a silvery-grey surface with a fine natural armour of repeating scales. The layered pieces form soft shadow lines and visible changes of direction, while misty grey, smoky beige and occasional warmer mineral notes prevent the surface from reading as a flat monochrome.

Unlike shagreen, which is defined by dense calcified beads, tilapia skin retains a scale-pocket geometry that reads as small diamonds and curved overlaps. Because the surface is built from natural skin pieces, variations in scale size, tone, overlap and seam rhythm should be expected and approved as part of the design. Confirm backing, substrate, edge protection and cleaning requirements for the intended dry interior location.
