Pedrini is a marble effect scagliola composition inspired by a seventeenth century Roman tabletop and conceived as a field of rounded, pebble-like forms. The design mimics a carefully chosen group of historic marbles including Giallo Antico Brecciato, Rosso Brecciato, Fior di Pesco, Broccatello, Breccia Dorata and Verde Antico. Rather than assembling those stones as natural fragments, the scagliola technique reconstructs their colour and visual character in pigmented plaster, making the material itself part of the illusion.

The strength of Pedrini lies in the tension between naturalistic stone imitation and composed pattern. Each apparent pebble can suggest a different marble family, so the eye moves between ochres, reds, greens and brecciated effects while still reading the piece as one surface.
