Verdant Cloister is a hand-laid polished pebble mosaic inspired by the quiet geometry of monastic courtyards and classical cloisters, where rhythm, repetition and natural materials create spaces of calm reflection. The interplay of ivory-toned pebbles and deep green stone forms an interlocking lattice that feels both architectural and organic.
Each piece is composed of carefully selected, tumbled and polished natural pebbles, individually placed by hand to achieve precise geometry within a flowing, tactile surface. The soft cream pebbles form a luminous ground, while the rich green stones create a continuous diamond lattice, punctuated by subtle floral nodes at the intersections.
The polished finish enhances the natural colour variation and mineral depth of each stone, allowing the surface to catch and diffuse light gently rather than reflect it sharply. The result is a surface that feels smooth underfoot yet visually textured, with a refined, almost jewel-like clarity.
Suitable for wet and dry interior environments, Verdant Cloister works beautifully in spa areas, shower floors, hammams, garden rooms and feature walls. Its tactile surface provides gentle grip, while its classical geometry lends a sense of order and permanence.
Technical information: hand-laid natural polished pebbles, mounted on mesh backing. Custom sheet sizes are available. The mosaic is suitable for interior decorative use, including wet areas. Bespoke colour combinations and pattern adaptations are available on request.
As with all De Ferranti pebble mosaics, subtle variations in tone, size and placement are part of the character of the material, ensuring that no two installations are ever truly identical.
For related polished pebble mosaic geometry, Interlocking Oval Pebble Mosaic explores a larger repeating form, while Woven Pattern Pebble Mosaic uses pale and charcoal stones for a textile-like field. The wider Stone Pebble Mosaics collection is useful when comparing pattern, finish and colour.
