This Baroque marble mosaic panel features an elaborate scroll motif set against a deep red marble ground. Flowing acanthus leaves and layered vegetal forms rise symmetrically through the composition, rendered in tones of soft grey, cream, muted green and warm gold. A richly ornamental composition in natural stone. The bold red field provides dramatic contrast, allowing the intricate detailing of the scrollwork to stand forward with clarity and depth. Each element is individually cut and laid by hand, creating subtle variation in tone and texture that enhances the sculptural quality of the design. Inspired by classical European decorative traditions, this panel brings grandeur and refinement to walls, floors or framed features. Ornate, balanced and richly worked in marble.
The strength of the design lies in the disciplined symmetry of the foliage against a saturated field. Its acanthus vocabulary connects the Baroque marble mosaic panel to carved stone, plasterwork and marquetry traditions, but the colour is carried entirely through pieces of natural stone. For projects requiring a related floral language at a smaller scale, Bloom in Mosaic offers a softer botanical interpretation.
The panel can also be considered alongside Stone & Marble Mosaics for field and framing materials, or Borders – Various Disciplines where a perimeter detail is needed to structure the composition.
For floor use, confirm the panel’s location, surrounding field and border widths before setting out. On walls or framed features, sightlines and lighting affect how the red ground and fine scrollwork read. Natural tonal variation is part of the material, so samples should be reviewed with adjacent marble, stone and grout choices before final specification.
