Verde Eygum marble, also listed in the stone trade as Eygum Green or Verde Eugeum, is a rare luxury green stone associated with the Italian cipollino and Cardoso marble tradition. Admired for its layered green, grey, white and mineral banding, it has the directional rhythm and folded movement that make cipollino marbles so distinctive.

Verde Eygum itself appears to be a specialist modern trade name rather than a securely documented ancient Roman marble. Its visual character nevertheless sits within the wider cipollino family, a group of green-banded marbles and calc-schists prized historically for columns, wall linings and decorative stonework. Italian cipollino varieties are closely associated with the Apuan Alps and the marble landscapes of Tuscany.

With its refined green palette and linear structure, Verde Eygum is especially suited to statement panels, bathrooms, bar tops, fireplace surrounds, floors, furniture and cut-to-size interior stonework where directional natural movement is part of the specification.

Verde Eygum Marble and Green Banding

The folded structure of Verde Eygum marble differs from the brecciated black-green field of Verde Antico and the translucent layers of Onice Verde Smeraldo. Dove Burl Grey Marble provides a useful neutral comparison where similarly directional movement is required without a strong green palette.

Orientation, Matching and Sample Review
