Campan Verde Rosa marble is a rare historic French stone from the Campan valley in the Hautes-Pyrénées, one of France’s most celebrated decorative marble regions. Admired for its distinctive mixture of green, rose, pink, white, burgundy and soft grey tones, it belongs to the prized Campan marble family used extensively at the Palace of Versailles during the reign of Louis XIV. Campan marbles appear in grand decorative schemes, fireplaces and wall panels, with green and red Campan varieties surviving among the palace’s polychrome marble interiors.

With its painterly movement, French provenance and refined natural colour, Campan Verde Rosa is especially suited to statement panels, bathrooms, fireplace surrounds, furniture, decorative slabs and interiors where historic stone and expressive colour are central to the scheme.

Campan Verde Rosa Marble and Pyrenean Colour

The character of Campan Verde Rosa marble comes from the relationship between cool green areas and warmer rose or burgundy passages rather than from a uniform background. Slab Selection and Colour Balance

Review the actual available material before fabrication because the balance of green, rose and pale calcitic areas can change markedly across a slab. For panels or fireplace elements, joint positions should follow the dominant natural movement. Samples are useful for assessing how the pink and green tones sit beside timber, metal, plaster and quieter stone. A full-slab view is preferable where broad transitions between pink and green will become part of a large feature surface.
