De Ferranti specifies Barcelona Brown for both residential and commercial installations, including floors, kitchens, bathrooms, staircases, walling and cut-to-size work.

The strength of this material is its balance of depth and restraint. Its brown tone is substantial enough to anchor an interior, while fossil details interrupt the surface only occasionally. A polished finish emphasises colour and reflection; a honed finish gives the stone a quieter, lower-sheen appearance suited to larger floor areas and high-use settings.

Within De Ferranti’s brown limestone group, African Brown Limestone offers a broader range of finishes and more visible fossil striation, while Bitter Chocolate Limestone is darker and develops a distinctive leather-like patina. Barcelona Brown was used for the main flooring in the Mulberry flagship store in Paris, where the honed stone formed part of a wider retail roll-out.
