The Rosellina green terracotta tile combines off-white floral and corner-rose geometry with small red accents over a green hand-painted ground. Made in a Southern Italian artisan studio, the pattern is identified by De Ferranti as Sicilian in origin and 19th century in character. Its repeated ornament gives a floor or wall clear structure while retaining the irregularity of work carried out by hand.
