Angelica is a nickel silver angel sculpture fashioned from Alpaca. De Ferranti specialises in sandcasting and lost wax casting. Its silver-toned surface is highly reflective, while the wings carry curving lines that become more legible as the viewing angle changes. Frontally, the figure reads with strong symmetry. From the three-quarter view, the depth of the wings and modelling of the body become more apparent.

Alpaca is a name used for nickel silver alloys, a family of copper, nickel and zinc metals valued for their silvery appearance. The material therefore gives this nickel silver angel sculpture the visual character of silver without implying sterling silver.
