To achieve this effect, the glaze is applied to the reverse face of the tile. This technique creates a more textured and irregular surface, encouraging greater variation within the glaze and producing a richer interaction with natural and artificial light. The result is a ceramic surface with exceptional visual depth, where colour appears to shift and evolve as viewing angles and lighting conditions change throughout the day.

The Abyss textured ceramic tile appears almost black from a distance, yet closer inspection reveals layers of deep cobalt, indigo and midnight blue interwoven with crystalline mineral formations and subtle glaze movement.
