Porphyry stone border, the Cyprian in Porfido Border creates a luxurious frame around a floor, lifting and personalising a scheme through colour, detail and classical rhythm. This unique border is fashioned from Rare Porphyry, lapis and Cream Marbles over a cement base, ensuring that the border is stable, sound and easier to install.

Totally hand-cut and hand assembled, it is a truly handmade product. No border is exactly the same, as the artist’s hand is vital in creating natural nuance within each interlocking piece. Thicknesses can be 1 cm or 2 cm, or made to order, as can the border widths and material combinations. All De Ferranti borders are fully customisable. The current finish is antiqued.

Porphyry Stone Border with Lapis and Cream Marble Detail

The richness of this porphyry stone border comes from its strong material contrast. The deep red porphyry ground gives the piece weight and intensity, while the Cream Marble scrollwork and circular forms bring lightness and movement. Small lapis accents add a cool blue note, giving the border a more jewel-like character without overwhelming the composition.

Cyprian in Porfido Border can be used to frame a floor, define a threshold, create a decorative wall band, enrich a fireplace surround, or introduce a more detailed perimeter line within residential, hospitality and leisure interiors, subject to specification. Where suitable, it may also be considered for external use in warm climates.
