Hive with Black Grout is a bold natural texture surface made from thin-sliced, abandoned termite hive, inlaid into a substrate and finished with dark grout to heighten the cellular pattern into a dramatic, graphic network.

This material elevates nature’s own architecture into a highly decorative finish. Sections of abandoned termite nest are carefully sliced, inlaid onto a backing with adhesive, then grouted and ground to a smooth surface, revealing an intricate maze of chambers and pathways that reads like fossil, coral, or cracked earth.

The black grout intensifies contrast, making the pattern more defined and giving the overall surface a deeper, moodier presence. Supplied in its natural colouration, Hive can also be produced with alternative grout colours on request, allowing the look to be softened or pushed even further.

Available sizes: 10 x 10 cm up to 100 x 100 cm. Thickness varies by application: tiles approx. 10 mm, wall panels approx. 10 mm to 19 mm.

Suitable uses include tiles, wall decor, wall cladding, flooring, countertops, table tops, mirror frames, doors, and furniture accents.
