Coconut Twig Square – Geometric Relief
This Coconut Twig Square design transforms reclaimed coconut twig into a bold, architectural surface, composed in concentric stepped squares that radiate from a central point. The natural striping of the twig creates a dramatic zebra-like pattern, enhanced by the interplay of light and shadow across the recessed geometry.

Each piece of old coconut twig is sun dried, treated for pest resistance, and hand cut before being carefully inlaid onto a stable substrate. The stepped formation is assembled by hand, then disc sanded to refine the surface while preserving its tactile, rustic depth. The result is a richly textured panel where dark grain lines contrast against warm caramel and espresso tones.

The design draws inspiration from traditional Asian weaving patterns, reinterpreted into a structured, almost sculptural composition. It feels both tribal and contemporary – organic in material yet geometric in discipline.
