Coconut Bark Herringbone
This Coconut Bark Herringbone panel transforms reclaimed coconut bark into a richly textured architectural surface, celebrating both material honesty and sustainable craft. Made from eco-friendly recycled bark – a by-product of the coconut industry – it gives new life to a material that would otherwise be discarded.

Each piece carries natural tonal variation, from deep tobacco and burnt umber to cinnamon and soft caramel highlights. The bark is sun dried, treated for durability, and precision cut before being hand inlaid onto a stable substrate in a classic herringbone formation inspired by traditional Asian weaving and basketry.

Once assembled, the surface is manually sanded to achieve a rustic, time-worn finish. Light plays gently across the uneven grain, enhancing depth and shadow while preserving the organic character of the material.
