Bamboo Straw-Marquetry Star is formed from sun-dried, pest-treated bamboo that is crushed to reveal its tight linear texture, then arranged into alternating directional blocks. The layout creates a repeating star and geometry, with each module built from stepped, diagonal grain lines that shift from horizontal to vertical, giving the surface movement without relying on colour contrast.
A natural-toned grout is applied and the face is ground smooth, softening the joins and creating a more seamless, architectural finish that enhances the warmth of the bamboo rather than outlining the pattern. The result sits between craft and micro-architecture - tactile up close, disciplined at room scale.
Supplied in its natural tone, it can also be stained or dyed to achieve bespoke colourways. Available from 10 x 10 cm up to 100 x 100 cm, with an approximate thickness of 10 mm for tiles and 10-19 mm for wall panels. Suitable applications include wall décor and cladding, flooring in appropriate settings, countertops and tabletops, mirror frames, doors, and bespoke furniture accents, where the directional grain and woven reference can be fully appreciated.
Straw marquetry was pioneered by Jean-Michel Frank for interiors, architectural finishes and furniture.
