Quadrato Rugato – Cross-Cut Stone Texture
A disciplined grid disrupted by raw fracture. This tile is cut both lengthways and widthways to create a -like matrix, each square retaining a deliberately rough, split-faced surface that captures light in sharp, angular shadows.

The result is architectural and tactile. Vertical and horizontal scoring introduces order, while the hand-worked fractured faces introduce movement and depth. The stone reveals subtle tonal shifts - from dusty rose and muted clay to soft greys - amplified by the uneven planes of the textured surface.

Because each block is cut and then fractured individually, no two pieces are identical. The interplay between precision cutting and rugged finishing gives this texture a compelling duality - structured yet primitive, geometric yet organic.

Construction
Stone cut lengthwise and crosswise to form a grid pattern, with each segment finished in a rough, split-faced texture.

Finish Options
Natural rugged face
Light brushing to soften peaks
Optional selective honing on grid lines for contrast

A powerful surface for feature walls and architectural panels where shadow, depth and material honesty are paramount.
