The terracotta pieces reveal the unmistakable character of traditional wood kiln firing – tonal shifts from soft apricot and dusty peach through to toasted clay and warm sienna. Subtle smoke shadows, freckles and edge darkening create depth within each module. The accompanying stone, likely a lightly honed travertine or , introduces a cooler chalky contrast – ivory, soft putty and faint fossil markings bringing balance to the warmth of the clay.
The geometry is crisp and architectural. Each lozenge is cut with precision, yet retains the natural irregularity that only hand-finished materials can achieve. The fine grout line sharpens the rhythm, allowing the pattern to read as a flowing zigzag field when laid continuously.
