From De Ferranti’s Semi-Precious collection, Petrified Wood is cut from fossilised timber that has undergone replacement over millions of years, preserving grain, structure, and natural movement while transforming it into stone. In this particular slab, an inclusion sits within the field, creating a focal point of warm , honey, and caramel tones against a broader composition of earthy browns, greys, and veining.
Available as slab for tabletops, worktops, vanity tops, wall cladding, and architectural details, and also as tile for more modular applications. Petrified wood can be supplied in different cuts, including cross-cut sections that reveal circular growth patterns and dramatic fossil “landscapes,” and vein-cut (lengthwise) selections that emphasise linear grain, striations, and layered movement.
The material can be left as a pure statement surface or combined with other materials - , onyx, metals, or contrasting hard stones - to frame the , create borders, or build bespoke inlaid compositions. Ideal for interiors that want authentic rarity, natural narrative, and a surface that cannot be replicated.
