Neisha Crosland
Noir Fossil Petrified Wood
A dramatic petrified wood with deep chocolate and espresso tones, frozen in geological time.
Ancient timber transformed into stone, each cross-section reveals organic growth rings and crystallisation.
Available in slab and tile formats.

Noir Fossil Petrified Wood is formed over millions of years as ancient wood is gradually replaced by minerals, preserving its internal structure in extraordinary detail. The result is a richly textured surface where fossilised tree sections are suspended within a darker stone matrix.

Large circular cross-sections contrast with fractured infill areas, creating a composition that feels both primal and architectural. Veins of calcite and subtle crystalline deposits weave through the surface, adding depth and movement to the darker field.

As with all materials in De Ferranti’s Rare & Onyx collection, selection is paramount. Each block is hand picked for tonal balance, structural integrity and visual impact. No two slabs are alike.

Ideal for statement walls, feature flooring, reception desks, dining tables and bespoke installations where material storytelling is central. Available cut to size or supplied as full slabs, with book-matching possible subject to block availability.
