Noir Fossil Petrified Wood is formed over millions of years as ancient wood is gradually replaced by minerals, preserving its internal structure in extraordinary detail. The result is a richly textured surface where fossilised tree sections are suspended within a darker stone matrix.

Large circular cross-sections contrast with fractured infill areas, creating a composition that feels both primal and architectural. Veins of calcite and subtle crystalline deposits weave through the surface, adding depth and movement to the darker field.

As with all materials in De Ferranti’s Rare Marble & Onyx collection, selection is paramount. Each block is hand picked for tonal balance, structural integrity and visual impact. No two slabs are alike.
