Hexagon Antique French Reclaimed Terracotta
Hand made clay tiles reclaimed from period buildings across France, these antique hexagons are often 200 to 300 years old, with much of our sourcing historically linked to the Loire Valley, Bordeaux and Provence. The hexagonal format has long been favoured for its natural rhythm and ability to create floors that feel both structured and organic, with subtle movement in the joints and a soft, timeworn geometry underfoot.

Colouration is the signature: warm reds, clay browns, biscuit tones and smoke-darkened pieces sit together in a naturally varied patchwork, shaped by regional clays, kiln conditions and centuries of use. Most reclaimed batches come from country houses, but hexagon terracotta is also found in a wide range of traditional structures, giving each lot its own character and level of .

As with all handmade antique materials, variation is part of the appeal. Sizes are typically 15 cm or 20 cm across, but individual tiles can drift slightly, and thickness is usually around 25 mm, with expected irregularities in edges, surface texture and tone.
