Carefully moulded in ceramic, the basin is meticulously hand-painted before being glazed and fired at approximately 1200°C, sealing the decoration beneath a luminous, durable surface. The interior is constructed from individually articulated leaf forms, each outlined and shaded to create subtle depth, their scalloped edges overlapping like a dense canopy of lily pads.
The green ground is not flat but modulated, with tonal variations that suggest natural veining and gentle movement across the bowl’s curvature. Resting atop this layered field are finely detailed white blossoms, each petal delicately contoured with soft grey shading and centred with warm golden stamens. The flowers appear lightly scattered, creating an organic rhythm that contrasts with the disciplined repetition of the leaves beneath.
The rim is finished in a warm, gilded tone with fine speckled detailing, providing a rich frame that enhances the botanical interior. Every line, shadow and highlight is executed by hand, ensuring that each basin carries subtle variations and the unmistakable presence of the artisan’s touch.
