Neisha Crosland
Taurus Rondelle
An unusual and symbolic rondelle, this piece combines the discipline of with the warmth of traditionally cast brass. The result is a bold circular composition where ancient metalworking and stone craftsmanship meet in perfect balance.

The field is formed from black , cut and assembled in to create a subtle radial backdrop. Into this dark ground, cast brass rings and a central ox motif are precisely inlaid, forming a powerful graphic contrast between matte stone and luminous .

The brass elements are sand cast using traditional methods, giving them a slight organic irregularity and tactile depth that cannot be achieved through modern machining. This process imparts character to the surface, allowing the to retain a handcrafted authenticity.

Each component is set into recessed channels within the stone and ground flush, ensuring a seamless integration of materials. Suitable as a floor medallion, wall feature, tabletop insert or bespoke architectural element, the Taurus Rondelle is a contemporary interpretation of historic inlay traditions enriched by time-honoured casting techniques.
