Darker and quieter than her more openly gestural pieces, this tile is all about texture, density, and subtle light. The surface reads like oxidised or weathered stone - a deep charcoal ground with scattered flecks and low, -gold glints that appear and disappear as you move around it.
The irregularities at the edges and the fine variations across the face are part of what makes it feel alive: evidence of heat, atmosphere, and timing, and of a maker willing to let the kiln participate in the final composition.
Best displayed as a singular object tile, within a framed panel, or as an accent in a niche or threshold detail where the finish can be appreciated up close. Presented as a homage to Marjory Clinton and the reduction lustre lineage she helped preserve.
