For the Madinat Jumeirah Hotel, Dubai, De Ferranti supplied concrete timber pickets from our Inspired Fakes collection for two of the hotel’s principal salon spaces, known as the Gun Rooms. Specified by a world-renowned designer, the floor delivers the visual warmth of timber with the durability and stability required for high-traffic hospitality interiors.

De Ferranti’s Inspired Fakes collection reimagines familiar natural materials through unexpected, performance-led mediums. In this project, concrete pickets were used to emulate the look and rhythm of timber boards, creating a long, linear pattern that grounds the salons with a calm, architectural texture.

nThe surface reads like aged wood at a glance, yet offers the practical advantages of concrete in a demanding hotel environment - resilience under heavy footfall, consistent performance, and a finish that ages with character. Used across the two large Gun Rooms, the picket format brings a tailored sense of proportion and continuity, supporting a luxurious, layered interior scheme without the fragility of real timber in commercial use.

nThis installation forms part of De Ferranti’s hospitality portfolio, demonstrating how alternative-material flooring can deliver both a design-led aesthetic and the durability expected in flagship hotel public spaces.
