Blanc Rose terracotta is one of the rarest expressions of antique French terracotta, sourced from a very restricted region of France where the local clays fired unusually pale. The result is a floor in quiet, milky tones: chalky whites, creams, biscuit and soft blush pinks, a palette that feels almost powdery and light beside deeper red terracottas.

Hand moulded and traditionally fired, these tiles were largely produced before the end of the 19th century, with many reclaimed floors dating back as far as the 17th century. This is terracotta with genuine provenance. The surfaces carry centuries of wear, softened edges and gentle undulation, and individual pieces may retain an original maker’s monogram. Blanc Rose is available in traditional formats including square tiles of approximately 16 x 16 cm and 20 x 20 cm, as well as hexagons. Thickness varies, typically around 25 to 30 mm. Actual batch samples should therefore be treated as the specification reference rather than an assumed standard.

Review the actual reclaimed batch before setting out. Tonal variation, edge wear, thickness and surface level should be blended deliberately rather than treated as defects.
