The artisanal construction combines function with an intense blue surface: water follows the carefully hand-polished interior curves towards the central waste, while the rounded exterior allows the hardstone mosaic to continue around the bowl.

The first gallery view shows rectangular tesserae moving through cobalt, ultramarine and darker midnight blue, with occasional lighter areas and small golden mineral flecks. A closer image reveals the individual pieces more clearly across the rim and outer curve. Polishing mosaic over both concave and convex forms requires patience and precision so that the numerous small pieces resolve into a continuous, tactile surface.
