Neisha Crosland
Scattered Yellow Stone Mosaic

This yellow stone mosaic is a warm, ruin-inspired field of 12 x 12 mm stone cubes, set in a loose scattered layout and honed flush for a softly timeworn, archaeological feel. The stones are cut to 12 x 12 mm and inlaid at slight rotations to create an intentionally irregular, found surface. Colour ranges from pale straw to honey and ochre, with natural variation and small tonal flickers that keep the field alive without strong patterning. Once set, the surface is grouted and ground to a smooth honed finish, giving a unified plane that feels calm underfoot while still reading as richly textured up close. The overall effect recalls old Italian pavements and fragments of historic mosaic work, translated into a practical surface finish. It is available as tiles or panels in sizes from approximately 10 x 10 cm up to 100 x 100 cm. Thickness varies by application, typically around 8 mm for tiles and approximately 10 mm to 19 mm for wall panels.

Yellow Stone Mosaic with a Scattered Archaeological Character

The interest comes from slight rotation, colour fluctuation and the absence of a rigid repeat. Rather than drawing a formal pattern, the ochre tesserae build a quiet mineral field. Parchment Scatter Tramline Stone Mosaic adds a structured border to a related scattered-field idea, while Reclaimed Italian Porphyry Mosaic (mod A.55120003) offers a materially different Italian stone mosaic with reclaimed character.

Sampling Tessera Rotation, Grout and Thickness

For a yellow stone mosaic, review several panels together so the straw, honey and ochre tones remain naturally dispersed. Select grout after seeing the honed surface: a close tone quietens the field, while contrast emphasises each 12 mm cube. Allow for the thickness range when coordinating adjoining finishes. The product is suitable for listed interior uses, with fixing and sealing agreed for the application.
