Connemara Vine Marble Mosaic Border (mod A.55130007)

This Connemara mosaic border uses stylised vine motifs in tones of Irish Green marble, ranging from deep forest green to softer apple hues, against a finely laid ivory-cream limestone field. The leaves rise from curving dark stems, creating a clear botanical rhythm without losing the small-scale texture of hand-cut tesserae.

Natural veining within the Connemara marble introduces movement to each leaf form, while the pale ground gives the greens definition. The source design draws on classical vegetal ornament associated with Roman and Mediterranean mosaic floors, using the border as a framing element rather than a self-contained pictorial panel.

Connemara Mosaic Border with Vine Ornament

For a field treatment using the same material family, Connemara Green Feature Mosaic places larger Irish Green marble fragments within a dense tessellated ground. The wider Borders – Various Disciplines collection is useful when comparing other approaches to framing floors, wall panels and decorative compositions.

Planning a Botanical Mosaic Border

A Connemara mosaic border should be set out with particular attention to corners, terminations and the spacing of the repeating vine. On long runs, establish how the motif will turn or stop before installation begins. Representative samples help assess the balance between dark forest leaves, lighter apple-green pieces and the ivory field, as well as the grout tone that surrounds the small tesserae. Recorded applications include floors, walls, bathrooms, kitchens, fireplace surrounds, tabletops, pools, art installations and warm-climate exterior areas. The final substrate, fixing, sealing and exposure conditions should be reviewed for the specific project. Where the border frames a central field, establish the relationship between border width and field scale before cutting begins.
