This mica tabletop panel is composed from natural mica in an Opus format, creating a layered mineral field with a soft metallic glow that changes with the light. At 5 mm thick, it is the tabletop-grade version of De Ferranti’s mica surfaces, developed for furniture and higher-touch interior applications where a more substantial build is preferred.

The tonal range moves through dark chocolate, antique bronze and smoky olive. Fine natural lamination gives the surface depth and irregularity, while the pre-assembled Opus composition organises that variation into a controlled arrangement of rectangular sections. Panels can be produced for table tops, bar tops, desks, vanity units, furniture cladding and feature details, with curved applications such as niches possible where the specified substrate and build allow.

Mica Tabletop Panel and Mineral Depth

The mica tabletop panel works best when its changing surface is treated as part of the design rather than expected to behave like a uniform printed finish. Low light and raking light can draw out different flashes within the same panel, so reviewing a sample alongside timber, stone, metal, lacquer or other adjoining finishes is especially useful.

Furniture and Tabletop Specification

Because this is a natural mica surface, colour, lamination and reflective character should be reviewed before fabrication. Panel dimensions, substrate, edge construction, junctions and intended level of touch should be coordinated as one assembly. The product is made to order and can be considered in different colourways and module layouts, subject to project specification. For furniture, bar or tabletop work, early coordination with the fabricator is recommended so exposed edges and transitions are resolved cleanly.
