Pattern and Light in a Beige Sandstone Jali Screen

The visible panel is framed by a substantial sandstone border and filled with an interlocking geometric lattice. Large polygonal forms are layered with smaller stars and angular cells, creating several scales of pattern within one field. The pale beige stone keeps the composition quiet while the openwork generates strong contrast against the space behind it. A closer view reveals the depth of the cut edges and the way repeated facets catch light.
