This composition uses the inlay technique to embed painted ceramics into precisely cut recesses within the marble substrate, before finishing so the surface reads clean, unified, and intentionally crafted. The motif draws on classic Iznik vocabulary: scrolling leaf forms and rosette-like medallions arranged in a balanced, rhythmic repeat.
A refined palette of cobalt blue, turquoise and warm ochre sits against the pale marble ground, creating crisp definition while allowing the stone to act as a quiet canvas. The contrast between smooth marble and glazed, hand-painted ceramic introduces subtle depth and light play, rewarding both distance and close inspection.
