The design is a ceramic reproduction inspired by the patterned facade of the Ducal Palace, also known as the Doge’s Palace, beside Piazza San Marco. Rather than copying a painted fresco, it translates the palace’s distinctive geometry into the dry, satin language of this collection.

Soft terracotta stepped lines move diagonally across an aged ivory ground. Small blue corner details meet across adjoining tiles to form cross-shaped junctions, while the terracotta bands develop into larger diamonds and radiating zigzags. Subtle marks, softened edges and tonal variation give these Venetian facade tiles the quiet character of a weathered decorative surface.

Planning the Geometric Repeat

The pattern becomes fully legible when several tiles are assembled. Rotation controls the direction of the stepped bands and allows the layout to form diamonds, chevrons or more open arrangements. A dry trial layout is recommended before fixing so that the blue junction marks and terracotta lines connect as intended.
