Ink Blue Cocteau Tiles bring Neisha Crosland’s curling Cocteau motif into a cool, decorative terracotta surface with the depth of blue ink and the softness of hand-applied glaze. Part of De Ferranti’s FLORIS collection, Cocteau – Ink Blue is a 20 cm x 20 cm handpainted antiqued tile for interiors that need pattern, movement and crafted surface detail.
The Cocteau design takes its inspiration from an ironwork fire fender found by Neisha Crosland in a flea market. That origin gives the motif its curved, ornamental energy, while the repeated layout keeps it disciplined enough for larger surfaces. In Ink Blue, the pattern feels less severe than black and more atmospheric, bringing in references to cobalt, Delft, indigo textile and hand-drawn ornament without becoming nostalgic.
The colour works well in schemes built around pale stone, aged timber, plaster, antique mirror, brass, leather or other specialist De Ferranti materials. It gives a room pattern and definition while retaining a cool, usable calm.
Cocteau – Ink Blue is listed with a handpainted antiqued finish. This gives the tile a surface that feels crafted rather than digitally uniform, with small shifts in tone and line that help the repeat stay lively across an installation.
Ink Blue Cocteau Tiles can be used for bathrooms, kitchens, fireplace surrounds, floors, walling, restaurants, residential interiors, swimming pool tile areas and external use in warm climates, subject to project specification. They can create a strong decorative splashback, a shower wall with rhythm, a patterned fireplace return or a complete surface field for hospitality and private residential projects.
